Highly Recommended : September 2011

Welcome to my occasional series of recommendations.  I get sent all sorts of little gifts and samples to try out so will highlight some from each month when I have been very impressed with the product or the service.

Tights Please

I often wear tights for work and I'm always on the look out for reasonably priced tights that actually last more than one wear.  The first pair I tried were the Charnos Waist Cincher in 'black' which is a slightly lower denier than usual but very comfortable and haven't laddered.  The second pair I tried was the Pretty Polly Pretty Cool in 'sunblush' that have been great for the between-summer-and-autumn period that we seem to be stuck in at the moment.  I must admit that the open gusset on these was a bit drafty unusual and I'm not sure I'd pick a pair with that again - but that is just personal preference.  The website is very easy to navigate and the search bar is a useful tool.  Delivery was exceptionally quick (two days).

Tiny Me

Personalised name labels, height charts, bags and more - I'm a sucker for anything with my name on it.  I was sent some sample stickers which I had a slight issue with after the didn't appear to be peeling away from the backing paper properly but I think it was me that wasn't doing it right.  The name labels are scratch resistant and dishwasher/microwave proof so great for lunchboxes and sports bottles.  It's your own responsibility to ensure that all labeling is spelled correctly when ordering and, even though I had to wait a week or so for my pack to be delivered you do receive emails to let you know the status of your order.

Joso Blu

I was sent a fabulous little sample tote bag from Joso Blu - a bag inside a bag that I am now keeping in the car.  The large bag rolls up and fits into the small bag which also a little belt clip on the side.  This is ideal for lugging extra bits and pieces around on the school run, keeping in the boot of the car for your shopping or for dirty wellies or shoes from the allotment.

There are all sorts of different styles of bags on their website ranging from gift bags (I love their oilcloth wine bottle bag) to messenger bags so have a nosy if you're looking for something a bit different.

I've been working with Coca-Cola to hone their online Recyclometer.  You can find out more about that on my Facebook page where there is also a link to Recyclometer.  A great little gadget especially if the kids are doing a recycling project at school.

So, as a little "thank you" present Coca Cola sent me a couple of gifts.  A bottle of Coca Cola of their brand new PlantBottle range - which is a fully recyclable plastic bottle made partially from plants - and an umbrella designed by Wayne Hemingway where the fabric is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.  Cool or what?
