The Typecast blog is written by myself, Nickie O'Hara - wife to one, Mum to three and Nana to two (yes, really!). I work full time for an educational charity, I am studying for a Social Science degree with the Open University and I write, cross-stitch and tap dance to "relax" (although not at the same time).
My Affiliated page displays a variety of badges and recommendation that show my credibility and influence. For information about my freelance availablility please view the information on my About Me page.
The Typecast blog has been live since July 2009 and I have been blogging and using online forums and newsgroups since 2002. I created a guest-posting series called "Cancer - Your Story" which tried to break the taboos regarding cancer. I am also one of the founders and organisers of the campaign "Blognonymous" and contribute material to other websites such as When I Was A Kid and Mumable. I have had articles featured on Breaking The Silence, Only Footprints and The Pygmy Giant (flash fiction). I have been a guest blogger on a number of blogs in the parenting and writing communities. I regularly write articles for the national publication, Flying Start Magazine.
This blog is a permanent feature in the Tots100 Parenting Blogs and the Top 20 Wikio Parenting Blogs. I have also been featured as an influential 'Power Tweeter' by Blogger.Ed, Voucher Codes and Cision.
I am happy to write features around your requirements or offer some of my previous (published or unpublished) work for perusal. If you would like me to write an article for you please contact me to discuss terms and fees. These are negoitable dependent on content and length. I am also willing to consider hosting advertisements for very reasonable rates, as long as they are relevant to my audience and the material I produce on my blog. Please do not hestiate to request a media pack for more information.
My main subject areas are parenting, social media, blogging, cancer and mental health. I also cover education, dance and opinions on current affairs. I have a prominent presence within social media platforms, especially on Twitter when you can often find me spending my Friday nights hosting the 'Friday Twiz'!
