Things To Do Before I Turn 50

(also known as my "TA-DA" list as opposed to a "to do" list) It was my 49th birthday a few days ago and this got me thinking. Any birthday that ends with a zero always feels a bit like milestone or a landmark and, when I hit the big "five-o" in 2022, I don't want huge parties or celebrations but I would like to have ticked a few things off my low-effort bucket list.   I see these things as a way to improve my mental and physical health, plus a few slightly off-the-wall experiences that would make for great memories.  Start running again and include the following: Lead a C25K group again  Participate in parkrun EVERY week where possible  < ongoing (now parkrun Run Director too) Visit local landmarks whilst running  Train for a long race - building up from 5k > 10k > 10 miles > half marathon, with a couple of longer trail races mixed in  Lose a lot bit of weight Post more on Instagram or give the blog a bit of a reboot < ongoing Look at

New Year Money Saving Tips

I'm determined to save money this year so I've been going back over my own money saving tips to ensure that I'm following my own advice. I'll also be trying to use cashback websites more often these days too and save up my amounts so it feels like I have a little bit of a windfall just before Christmas.  Occasionally I use Easyfundraising too because the donations go to a chosen charity or fundraiser (ours is my running club but you can choose any charity).

Another 'hot tip' from me at the moment is to have a search for online competitions. I love finding giveaways on blogs (and they are usually have low entry levels too which means more chances for me to win Ssshhh!). Bloggers usually request that you follow their blog or their twitter account as part of the qualifying conditions and sometimes they use a special entry application like Rafflecopter (this is the one I use too). You can log in using your Facebook account which mean that you don't have to combat hundred of unwanted emails that usually accompany registering for competitions on branded websites. Search for blogger's giveaways using Google search but add the words "UK blog" or, if you use Twitter then have a look on the #win or #giveaway search stream.

It's always worth giving yourself a bit of a treat though. You can try payday loans to give yourself a bit of a boost and then you can share your purchases out between in-store bargains and online offers. I'm a huge fan of sites like Groupon as they are really easy to use and they have loads of the big-name stores that you'll recognise. There's even special offers to be had on Ebay and Amazon. .
