How Do You Pick Yourself Up After The Summer?

I had the most gorgeous holiday in Corfu earlier this year (I may have mentioned it... multiple times) but there's always that time, towards the end of the summer or the beginning of Autumn that you feel like you need a little pick-me-up, isn't there?   I thought I'd offer some ways to give you a little boost as the nights start drawing in and your hand is itching to flick the switch on the heating.  Photo Credit : Jennifer Burk, Unsplash Have one pamper day a week Set aside some time to have a stretch out with some yoga and then dive into a luxury bubble bath complete with an aromatherapy candle (try a Yankee candle or one from St Eval ) and a face mask (I love TonyMoly sheet masks ), with a mug of herbal tea or glass of wine to hand. Go for a run Just lace up those trainers and go for a run , even if it's been ages since you headed out.  If you're a complete non-runner then look up the "couch to 5k" app and use the next 9 weeks ...

My Top 5 Beauty Products : Summer 2017 Edition

Earlier this year I wrote about my summer holiday essentials  on this blog and I also shared my holiday packing tips on the Hotter Shoes blog.  Now that the summer is almost over *sob* I thought I'd share my favourite summer beauty products. Orly Breathable When visiting my nail technician, I switch between using acrylic nail powder  and having a Gelish manicure as both last a good three to four weeks however, in between manicures, I've been loving trying out the different shades of Orly Breathable and I'm really impressed at how I can get away with just one quick coat for a couple of days. Vaseline My summer holiday saviour was Vaseline and their Intensive Care range . The Radiant Spray Moisturiser is really their hero product this year (the directional spray means there's hardly any waste) and I've been a fan of their Lip Therapy for years now.   BC Body Collection Foundation I've been on the hunt for a tinted face moisturiser but came a...

Summer Holiday Essentials

Later this year my husband and I are jetting off to Corfu to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Yes, I know I don't look old enough... it's very kind of you to say so.   Anyway, over the next few weeks I'm trying to prepare properly for our break by ensuring that I travel light, yet functional, as I have a tendency to over-pack. Summer holiday essentials... what would you add to the list?  [ click to tweet ] I'm loving looking at ideas for beach, day and evening wear and need to make sure I've got a good mix-and-match wardrobe. I've noticed a lot of blue and white on offer for this season.  Styles that I'm loving are longer length shorts, tunic tops and light, floaty summer maxi-dresses  that don't cling in all the wrong places. You can't go wrong with tan shoes so I'll be packing my Roxanne wedges from Hotter Shoes which are so comfy that I could wear them all day but I spotted their matching ' Resort Sandals ...

Listography : Top 5 Beauty Products

This week, Kate wants us to share our beauty secrets .  I don't spend a lot of money on make-up and beauty and it shows but I've fallen in love with Natio products since winning a box full of them over on In The Powder Room last year.  I also had a gift voucher to spend ON ME FOR A CHANGE at Debenhams so I've bought some new bits and pieces from their range [insert lots of hearts here].  So here is what I am using and loving at the moment (all images stolen borrowed from Debenhams ) Natio Ageless Rehydrating Toner and Gentle Cleansing Milk This leaves my skin feeling really fresh and now that I'm getting close to the big "Four Oh" I know I need to start taking a bit more care of my skin instead of relying on my pillow to remove my make-up at night.  Natio Tinted Moisturiser in Natural A new discovery.  Where has tinted moisturiser been all my life? Natio Mineral Pressed Powder Bronzer I've always been a bit of a cheek-pi...
