#dosomethingyummy Writing Prompts - Week 3

During February I will be posting a series of writing prompts so welcome to the third in the series.  I would love bloggers from all corners of the internet to join in, get creative, be inspired to write whilst helping to promote and raise awareness of the CLIC Sargent Yummy Mummy Week - 10th to 18th March 2012.  

Why am I doing this?  This time it's personal and you can read all about that here.  You can also download the official press release and images to use in your posts from that link.  I want you to get inspired to do something - anything - to help support the CLIC Sargent charity.


How can you get involved?  Easy!! Each Monday for the whole of February I shall be posting a series of writing prompts based around a general theme.  You choose one, write a blog post about it and come back here on Thursday of the same week and share a link to your blog post.  This means that we can all read what you've written and you can see what everyone else has written.  The linkys will stay open for the whole of February and March so you can add your links at any time.  I would also love it if you could share any of the posts on your social network platforms such as Twitter and Facebook or tag another blogger and get them involved.  If you're not a blogger but a regular reader then it would be great if you could share any of the posts on Facebook, Twitter, networking forums, by email to friends... anything.



Week 3 

Getting Together
(pick any of the prompts)

  1. Personal post.  When was the last time you got together with a group of friends?  Tell us about it.
  2. Yummy post.  Yummy Mummy week is all about getting together with other parents to raise money for CLIC Sargent.  Tell us why getting together with other parents is important to you. 
  3. Creative post.  Tell us how you are surviving the half term holidays!  Or for the vloggers out there, get the kids involved.  Interview them using these questions.  

I hope that's inspiring enough for you?  I would really love it this week if you could "tag" someone in your post so that we can spread the word further - even if it's just for one week.  We've had over 30 link-ups for the past two weeks so let's see if we can hit 40 or even 50 this week.  Just remember to include a link to the CLIC Sargent Yummy Mummy website (http://www.yummymummy.org.uk/) in your post and return on Thursday to link up.

[REVIEW] Canvas print from PrinterPix

Whilst dabbling in a bit of (very) amateur photography I occasionally have a favourite photo printed onto canvas.  It's usually a scenery picture and used to brighten up the walls in the lounge or at a focal point on the stairs.  Most recently I have had two images put through the process by PrinterPix . I sent off an image of my son after his Territorial Army passing out parade in April (proud parent moment) and one of our dog on the beach from a few months ago.  They were returned within a few days and looked even better than I had imagined. Soldier Boy is on a canvas that is 16" x 20" on a standard thickness (2cm) frame.  Michi is on a 12" x 16" canvas which is stretched onto a thickeer (4cm) frame.  Both have been printed using a gloss finish.   All canvases from PrinterPix are hand-stretched, use fade-resistant ink and tension wedges are fitted into the corners of each frame to aid stability. 7 Things To Do In Roda, Corfu

This year, our summer holiday took us to Corfu. We were staying in Roda on the north coast of the island and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful Greek fishing village and has the most chilled and welcoming atmosphere I've ever experienced.  I'd love to share my recommended seven things to do if you visit Roda. Sunset over Roda harbour Swimming With The Fishes The coastline at Roda is completely flat so you can walk out quite a distance and still only be in shallow water.  The beach in the village is very sandy but becomes rocky as you move out of town towards some of the beach front hotels (twenty paces out to sea, it becomes sandy again).
