SKYDIVE? Yes please!

My colleague, Mel thinks I'm having a mid-life crisis......and she might be right! This week alone I have auditioned for a tv game show (I didn't get to the filming stages but I was shortlisted from 25,000 applicants) and now I've agreed to skydive for charity.

Yes... you read that right.  On Friday 9th 30th May (weather permitting - this is the rescheduled date) I will be throwing myself out of a plane (with a parachute, natch, and in tandem with someone who knows what they are doing) as part of a blogger event. It has given me the almost unique opportunity to raise some money for a charity very close to my heart.

Last year I managed to convince many of my family and friends, both online and in real life, to donate over £900 when I joined in with two Race For Life events with other members of Team Drama Llama in tow.  

This year, I have decided to go one step further.  I will be running fast walking another Race For Life again later this year but thought that I might as well use a few of the madcap ideas I have to raise some extra cash for a fantastic charity. 

This month I taking part in a skydive. Next month it might be a cupcake sale at work. On the blog I may do another awareness campaign. Whatever it is, I shall be raising money for Cancer Research UK on my brand new Just Giving page.

My constant reason for supporting Cancer Research UK is the fact that we still have our beautiful daughter with us.  In 1992 she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. You can read her cancer story here - "There are only so many perfect heads in the world..."

The skydive was originally meant to take place on the 9th of May but it rained like it was never going to stop. Of course, I was awfully disappointed but I'd much rather be safe when doing something like this. We have just received notice that the rescheduled date for the skydive is Friday 30th May.  Thank you if you have already donated, thank you if you are just about to donate, thank you in advance if you're going to donate in the very near future. [REVIEW] Canvas print from PrinterPix

Whilst dabbling in a bit of (very) amateur photography I occasionally have a favourite photo printed onto canvas.  It's usually a scenery picture and used to brighten up the walls in the lounge or at a focal point on the stairs.  Most recently I have had two images put through the process by PrinterPix . I sent off an image of my son after his Territorial Army passing out parade in April (proud parent moment) and one of our dog on the beach from a few months ago.  They were returned within a few days and looked even better than I had imagined. Soldier Boy is on a canvas that is 16" x 20" on a standard thickness (2cm) frame.  Michi is on a 12" x 16" canvas which is stretched onto a thickeer (4cm) frame.  Both have been printed using a gloss finish.   All canvases from PrinterPix are hand-stretched, use fade-resistant ink and tension wedges are fitted into the corners of each frame to aid stability. 7 Things To Do In Roda, Corfu

This year, our summer holiday took us to Corfu. We were staying in Roda on the north coast of the island and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful Greek fishing village and has the most chilled and welcoming atmosphere I've ever experienced.  I'd love to share my recommended seven things to do if you visit Roda. Sunset over Roda harbour Swimming With The Fishes The coastline at Roda is completely flat so you can walk out quite a distance and still only be in shallow water.  The beach in the village is very sandy but becomes rocky as you move out of town towards some of the beach front hotels (twenty paces out to sea, it becomes sandy again).
