HELP PLEASE! Need information about two pictures I am selling.

Please share this blog post within your network using the TweetMeme button to the right of this page or the 'share' facility at the bottom of the post.  I am desperate to find out more about two pictures I have that I am willing to sell.  I have Googled as far as I can and my knowledge and experience ends here.  If you have any information whatsoever please feel free to comment at the end of this post or email me

The first is by M DOVASTON and is called THE HALF WAY HOUSE.  After a bit of research I came across a very detailed website and a bit of extra information elsewhere.  I believe I have a print (rather than the original painting) of this picture but I cannot find an image of it online apart from a very grainy copy on Google Images.

Here are some close up images of the picture, including one of back of the frame:

The second appears to be a line drawing of a motorcar race by F GORDON TROSBY.  When I search for this name a number of rather *cough*salacious*cough* websites appear so (using my limited knowledge of SEO) this could mean that it is an often searched artist but there is little known about him. F GORDON CROSBY (thank you to Mark B. for correcting me here - see comments) There is a label on the back of the frame that details the history of the picture:
The Targa Florio.  Felice Nazzaro in a Fiat won the second Targa Florio round the wild, mountainous, 93-mile Sicily circuit in 1907.  His average speed for the 277 mile race was 33.5 mph.

As I have already said, I would be extremely grateful for any information related to either of these pictures and can provide more photographs if necessary.  I know it's going to be hard work with this just from photographs but I've tried to include as much detail as possible.

Apologies if the pictures overlap the sidebar - it's an issue with the size of the pictures on Photobucket but I posted them on here as large as I could for convenience.

Thank you for reading.
